Welcome to Sunnhordland Museum! We would like to show you some of the history of Sunnhordland, conveyed through our exhibitions, our restored buildings and courtyards, and our great collection of motors at Stord Maritime Museum!

If you follow the signs at Leirvik Marked, you will find our beautiful open air museum Sunnhordland Folk Museum, situated on the hilltop behind the center of Leirvik. The museum comprises farm buildings, two open hearth huts, a farm house with an attic, a school house, a country store and a beach fisherman's rented hut.

The museum has permanent displays featuring agriculture, forestry, fishery and life in prehistoric times in addition to a collection of sculptures by the artist Torleiv Agdestein.

Beautiful furniture with drake orrnaments, wood carvings, embrodery and textiles from the turn of the century.

The exhibitions show the technical, marine industrial history of Sunnhordland, for ex. the motor production. Place: Nattrutekaien, Leirvik Harbour.

The miller's house: A restored holding the miller's apartment, a storage room, and a photomontage shows the history of milling and ship building on the location. Situated next to Stord church.
